Wish I knew this sooner but my future sandwiches are gonna be so much better πŸ˜‹

That’s actually so clever, and gives a good justification for using more than a single slice of ham.

Why my mother is so insistent that a single slice is enough is completely beyond me, but anyway

And just make it on any surface so you don’t have to get crumbs on a plate or paper towel. Extra hack, be forced to clean your stove top

Just gonna lay my ham right here on the range top. Now I don’t have to dirty a plate. Two hacks in one.

They won’t fall out, but the salt from the sliced meat will make the tomatoes sweat (a lot) and you’ll have a leaky mess.

Use a leaf of lettuce to shield the tomato from anything with salt (including the mayonnaise) to prevent this.

    This is brilliant!

taking advice from someone who makes sandwiches on the stovetop tho

  7. Every-Chemistry-2969

The surface where this sandwich was made is why I don’t eat at just anyone’s house.

  8. eitherrideordie

But… I actually like the tomatoes putting flavouring on the bread by touching it.

  9. lol_camis

I bring the wet ingredients in a separate container and assemble it when I’m ready to eat it

The lunch-meat is shinier than the tomatoes 😐

Just put lettuce on either side of the sandwich for the same result so that you’re not performing a procedure enveloping your contents with sliced meats.

  12. Anxiety_Potato

I mean I just bring them in a separate baggy and put it on when I’m ready to eat….

  13. Maybe I am weird but when assembling the sandwich I lay the meat like a crumbled up piece of paper. About 3 slices fit the length of the bread this way. I don’t know why but to me it tastes the best this way, if I layer them it just hits different. The worst sandwiches I ever had were ones where they just take 3 slices, not even separated, and place them on the sandwich…

And assemble your food right on the grossest cooktop possible

  15. IsSecretlyABird

Or just skip the disgusting slimy tomatoes altogether. That’s the saddest looking sandwich I’ve ever seen.

4 slices of meat? With this economy? Craziest thing i’ve seen in weeks.

a sandwich shop near me takes their sub bread, cuts out the wedge, fills it with the veggies and toppings, and then puts the meat across the top and tucks it in like a blanket. it keeps everything in place, BUT it’s the most unphotogenic thing ever

But if you take a bite of that packed tomato the juices will explode all over and wont make the bread heavenly yummy

If I received a sandwich like this I’d be affronted.

Sorry, but in my humble opinion, the manner in which ingredients are cut and the order in which they’re placed in a sandwich massively impacts the end product, to me this is just a slimy ham parcel stuffed with ridiculously massive tomato slices. The texture would be seriously off putting and I would strongly doubt the culinary skills of the person who made it.

Just chop the tomato into smaller pieces, it’s really not that hard. That also stops you taking a bite and pulling the whole damn sandwich apart, since it’s the giant tomato slices that cause that to happen in the first place.

    This is disgusting!

Why are you worrying about soggy bread with a dirty ass stove top?!

That just doesn’t seem appealing to eat

  23. BeaufortsMama2019

This would’ve been cool to know and do before I went pescatarian…lol difficult to do with tuna and veggie sandwiches

  24. BrainwashedScapegoat

Thats what leafy vegetables are for

  25. Optimal-Being1386

What a failure my life has been up until now

  26. ElizaPlume212

Brilliant. Will do this. Love tomato on sandwiches but not when they squish out the other side when I take a bite.

  27. strangebutalsogood

I simply keep tomatoes the fuck out of my sandwiches.
